In our clinic, we use Thermography to help understand if a patient is experiencing Neuropathy specifically from bloodflow issues. Thermography is a non-invasive screening tool which can be used to monitor health with the goal of identifying problems at an early stage before issues are able to advance. Thermography demonstrates bloodflow and heat patterns, and has been used from everything from spotting acute inflammation, nerve health problems, Neuropathy, to even more serious health issues.
Thermography is a preventive screening tool which uses a high-resolution digital thermal imaging camera and looks at heat patterns and differentials in order to indicate health risks. This can help diagnose Neuropathy, among other things. Our clinic offers Chiropractic care as well, so there are other applications in which Thermography can be helpful.
The imaging process by which thermography works is called DITI: Digital Infrared Thermal Imaging. With DITI a digital scanner takes infrared heat coming from the skin, and converts it to colored images. In this manner you are able to obtain a visual “map” of the body’s temperature. The variance in color indicates an increase or decrease in the body’s temperature in the different parts or regions, which could be an early warning sign that there is a problem forming.
Depending on the category assigned and other findings from the Thermography reading, we can educate and help our patients in the Twin Cities make informed decisions about their health and how to live the life they want.
